It was after they removed the gravel that they discovered https://patco.com another problem – a stump dump full, or buried wood debris and tree stumps. This was a big deal and required a change order as well as expensive mitigation. Through it all, Weir was impressed with how the PATCO team communicated and handled the unforeseen issues. “They were very upfront in their communication and didn’t hide in the numbers,” shares Weir, appreciative of PATCO’s transparency and problem solving. Once the stump dump was cleared, the project was able to move forward as planned. We would like to thank Varco Pruden for being a loyal business partner, our clients and hard- working employees.

While the building is simple and could be thought of as basic, PATCO is known for elevating simple metal buildings. Says Brooks, “It’s a beautiful building [and] a great addition to the campus. It looks like it’s been there awhile.” In total, the project took about 4 months, wrapping up in late July, well ahead of schedule. Once the construction phase begins, clients can expect daily oversight and regular communication.
I used to work as a line cook in my family’s restaurant before coming to PATCO. My family opened up a restaurant and once when they got established, I went back to working for PATCO. I was born in New Hampshire, I have 2 brothers and one sister, but I have lived in Maine pretty much my whole life. In my spare time, I like long-distance running and I recently joined a fighting league – it’s like Mixed Martial Arts, but you wear 15th– century armor.
Commercial Experience
It all began in 1985, when Irving Patterson invited his son Mark to come work with him at what was then a small residential construction company. Son Greg joined a few years later as a third partner and helped the company expand into commercial construction. Over the years, the Patterson family has always focused on doing the right thing and putting the customer first, an approach that has earned them loyal customers and helped their company grow. A Sanford native, Irving never could have envisioned that his small family-run business would become a pillar of the Sanford business community and a leader in Maine and New Hampshire’s construction industry. However, when the values of teamwork and integrity are a part of your foundation, it’s easy to see how PATCO Construction has been serving Maine and New Hampshire for over 35 years.
When I’m not working, I love hanging out with my lovely wife and son. I also enjoy golfing, barbecuing and taking walks on the beach. Construction companies, large and small, are flooded with projects. Construction Business Owner says that despite being flooded with projects, their ability and willingness to complete them could be compromised by today’s realities in the labor market.
My favorite part of the job is that I get to see a project come to life and see all the hard work pay off. Partners for World Health collects unused medical supplies and equipment from healthcare facilities and distributes them to those in need around the world. After witnessing the conditions of hospitals in developing countries, Elizabeth McLellan, RN, MSN, MPH, vowed to do something to help. In 2007, she began gathering discarded supplies from the Maine hospital where she was working.
One example is a recent commercial office complex completed on time and within budget, featuring state-of-the-art facilities and sustainable design elements. Another is a residential renovation that transformed a dated house into a modern, energy-efficient home tailored to the client’s lifestyle. The brewery equipment isn’t the only thing looking shiny and new. The steel structure housing the entire operation, the house that PATCO Commercial built, gleams in the February sunlight. Though understated and industrial in its appearance, PATCO’s expert design team and Steel Crew customized the entire building to fit Fore River’s unique brewery specifications and needs. For Coombs, good business it’s all about relationships and the key to a good relationship is communication.
